TransLink’s PrideBus returns in playful 16-bit style
Extra SkyTrain service and bus detours on Sunday for Pride Parade
VANCOUVER, BC – TransLink’s iconic PrideBus will be featured in the 47th annual Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday, August 3. TransLink staff will also be marching alongside the PrideBus to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Following the parade, the PrideBus will hit the streets to serve customers until the end of summer.
“Participating in the Pride Parade is a meaningful tradition for TransLink, and we’re proud to show our support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities once again,” says TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn. “I encourage our customers to take transit as the safe, efficient, and reliable way to get to and from the Pride Festival.”
The PrideBus is a vibrant celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in Metro Vancouver. This year’s PrideBus was developed in-house and is wrapped in a joyful, retro-inspired design featuring vibrant 16-bit unicorns, a playful nod to self-expression, nostalgia, and the magic of being boldly yourself.
The PrideBus artwork also pays homage to late local artist and 2SLGBTQIA+ community advocate Joe Average, with the inclusion of bees. The bees are a reference to Joe Average’s iconic Bee Line artwork, which TransLink proudly featured on the PrideBus in 2023 through a collaborative partnership.
TransLink will increase Expo and Millennium Line service between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the Pride Parade on Sunday, August 3. Downtown bus service will be rerouted for the parade due to street closures. As a result, customers should plan for extra travel time as needed.
Bus reroutes on Sunday, August 3:
- 2 MacDonald/Burrard (11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
- 5 Robson/Downtown (6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
- 6 Davie/Downtown (6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
